Ridgewood board approves supplemental contracts

The Ridgewood Local School Board met in regular session Oct. 19, in the West Lafayette Elementary School cafeteria.

Commendations and congratulations were given to Lexi Zimmer who was Ridgewood High School’s first female state qualifier in golf. She finished 23 in a field of 75 participants. Congratulations to the Athletic Maintenance crew of Ed Huff and Kevin Lott for their commitment and dedication to the work they have done on the football field. The district was presented the Fields of Excellence Award from Pioneer Athletics with a banner and certificate for the second year. Superintendent Mike Masloski reported that the number of students on remote learning is down from 25% to 11% since the beginning of the year.

Superintendent Masloski gave the following report:

  • Correction from the Sept. 21, board meeting to approve the replacement of windows at RES from Area 2 to amended Area 2 for $49,000.
  • Supplements contracts for 2020/2021 school year to: LPDC committee – Linda Ondayko, Jeff Larr, Rebecca Wells, Lori Cabot, and Matt Colvin; Boys Basketball – Head Coach Troy Dolick, JV Tyler McCullough, Freshmen, Ryan Lowe, eighth grade Thomas Ellis, seventh grade Trevor Donaldson; Girls Basketball – Head Coach Scott Bardall, JV John Regula, eighth grade Denny Varian, seventh grade Steffinee Powers; Evaluation SLO committee – Kimberly McKibben, Troy Dolick, Matt Wells, Todd Stoffer, Bryan Raach; Wrestling – Head Coach Chad Massie, RHS Asst. Leroy Bethel, Co-RMS Kyle Bethel and Kevin Bethel; Conditioning Coaches – Fall Chad Lahna, Winter and Spring John Slusser, Summer Chris Cabot; Choir Ensemble – Haley Evans
  • Volunteers for the 2020/2021 school year – Boys Basketball – Dyson Bowman; Girls Basketball – Greg Lower; Wrestling – Kasey Bethel.

The next board of education meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at West Lafayette Elementary School.
