Coshocton moves to red status on health advisory system
On Thursday, Nov. 5, the Coshocton City Health Department and Coshocton County Health Department were notified that based on review of data Coshocton County is now at red status in the Public Health Advisory System. This change in status from orange to red is due to the following:
- New cases per capita (325.1 cases per 100,000 residents)
- Sustained increase in new cases (4.3 average cases on 10/18 to 10.0 by 10/24)
- Proportion of cases not in a congregate setting
- Sustained increase in emergency department visits (2.9 average visits on 10/27 to 4.4 on 10/31)
The Public Health Advisory Alert System is a color-coded system designed to supplement existing statewide orders through a data-driven framework to assess the degree of the virus’ spread and to engage and empower individuals, businesses, communities, local governments, and others in their response and actions. Level 3 “Red” indicates very high exposure and spread. Citizens are urged to limit activities outside of the home as much as possible.
The Coshocton County COVID-19 Unified Command urges every resident of Coshocton County to wear a facial covering, practice social distancing, avoid group gatherings as well as increased washing of hands and personal hygiene. If you do not feel well stay home. Contact your primary care physician if you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms.
