Church members spread holiday cheer at nursing home
On Dec. 20 a handful of Emmanuel Lutheran Church members went caroling outside the windows of residents of the Coshocton Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.
“It was a joy to see the smiles on their faces and many sang along with us,” said Pastor Bryan Kittner. “They were very appreciative.”
Members also assembled goodie bags with a cutie and assorted candies and signed and decorated cards for each of the residents.
“We also provided lots of snacks, beverages and two large fruit baskets with candy for the evening and day shifts to enjoy during the week of Christmas,” Kittner said. “We wanted them to know how much we appreciate what they do for the elderly and most vulnerable people in our community during these challenging times. It’s important to show the love and joy of Jesus in concrete ways. It was a way to say thank you and Merry Christmas. We keep them in our prayers and ask God’s blessing.”
Funding for the project was provided through a grant from Thrivent Financial Services.
