Carol A. Gable
Carol A. Gable, 79, a former longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2020 at Genesis Hospital. She was born May 29, 1941 in Cambridge. She was the daughter of Donald and Wilma (Bishard) McFarland.
Carol married her husband of 59 years, H. Thomas Gable, in 1962. Together they had four children. Tom and Carol traveled frequently, including to many Cleveland Indians games as they were involved with the “Heavy Hitters.” They also operated the Mary Harris Bed and Breakfast together for many years. Carol was a retired school teacher who taught English and Speech for over 30 years, including one year at John Glenn, and 29 years at River View High School. She was also a long time member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton, and loved music, art, reading, and dancing.
Surviving are her husband, Tom, her children, Cheryl Ogle, Beth Foster, Cindy Beache, and Brian Gable; her grandchildren, Michael, Dylan, Jeff, Courtney, Kathryn, Tristan, Birdie, Tyler, Rachel, Emilee, Jaret, and Aiden; six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Karen McFarland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Scott McFarland.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will take place for the immediate family. It will be available to watch as a live stream on her obituary page, and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Zanesville Parkinson’s Group “All Shook Up” at PO Box 2832 Zanesville, OH 43702, or at www.zpgallshookup.com.
