Double homicide reported in Canal Lewisville

On Jan. 4, around 5:42 p.m. deputies along with Coshocton County EMS were dispatched to 23877 Hutchison Ave. in regards to a shooting.

While deputies were responding to the scene they were advised the suspect left the scene in a silver Honda Civic. Deputies saw a vehicle matching the description and a pursuit was then initiated on SR 621 in the Canal Lewisville area. This pursuit then continued southbound on SR 621 toward the intersection of US 36. The vehicle then crashed in the intersection of US 36 and SR 621. A male suspect was taken into custody.

Other deputies arrived on scene of the shooting and found a female subject to be laying in the yard in front of the house and a male subject who appeared to be deceased laying on the floor inside the house. Once the scene was secure by deputies the female subject was taken by Coshocton County EMS to Coshocton Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. Both the male and female appeared to have been shot multiple times.

No names are being released at this time. This double homicide is an on going investigation and names of the victims and the suspect will be released at a later time.

Assisting deputies at the scene of the homicides were Coshocton County EMS, the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office, Coshocton K9 Units, children services, and the Coshocton County Coroners Office.

Also assisting deputies at the scene of the accident were Coshocton County EMS, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Princes Wrecker Service.
