Martha Rae Almack

Martha Rae Almack, 82, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 3, 1938, in Mount Vernon to the late Albert Paul and Catherine (Carpenter) Rine. After graduating Mount Vernon High School in 1956, she married Charles C. Almack on Nov. 4, 1956. Together they owned and operated C & M Collectables on Second Street for 30 years. She worked for AEP, Shaw Barton and as a teller for Cambridge Savings and Loan.

Martha enjoyed going to flea markets where she met many friends over the years. She liked to travel, sew, do crossword puzzles and put puzzles together. Martha took great care of her family; she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her loving dog Fritz who passed away several years ago. Martha and her daughter volunteer at Camping Echoing Hills. She was a compassionate, caring, strong minded, loving person and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Along with her husband Charles, of 64 years, Martha is survived by her two children, Kim (Joe) Vonasek of Rochester, NY and Todd (Linda) Almack of Westerville; four grandchildren, Paul (Lisa Brotz) Vonasek, Lori (Shaun) VanDyke, Amy Almack and Andrea Snyder and two great-grandchildren, Hazel Rose and Ambrose Leo.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, from 10 a.m. to noon at Given-Dawson-Paisley. Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, social distancing measures will be in place and there will be a limited number of people inside the funeral home at a time. We also ask that you please wear a facemask at all times for the health and safety of our guests and employees.

Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at noon on Tuesday with Pastors Mike Gross and Bill Jones officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens in Mount Vernon.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Martha’s name to Interim Hospice, 499 S. Second St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
