Kathryn Louise ‘Kate’ Cowden

Kathryn Louise “Kate” Cowden, 86, of Coshocton, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at her home. She was born Sept. 24, 1934 in Cedar Creek, TN to the late John Henry Collins and Dorothy Merle (Watson) (Collins) Finley.

Kate was one of the founding members of the line dancing group, Silver Liners. She enjoyed car rides, going to casinos, and traveling. She and her husband traveled to 47 states and six countries. She was a talented seamstress.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Burney D. Cowden; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Waddle; son, Bruce Cowden; two granddaughters, Mollie (Brian) Hahn and Kayla Cowden; great-grandson, Maxon Hahn; a great-granddaughter due in May; and one brother, Dale H. (Reta) Collins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Fred Finley; two sisters, Dorothy M. Girlando and Jean M. Archer; and a great-grandson, Barrett C. Hahn.
