Janice I. Asire

Janice I. Asire, 93, of Coshocton passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at her daughters’ home in Newcomerstown.  She was born in Coshocton County, Ohio on Nov. 22, 1927 to the late William F. and Gertrude (Holdsworth) Mencer.

Janice was a graduate of Conesville High School and work for JJ Newberry’s. Spitlers Restaurant, and Pretty Products for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of 1st Assembly of God and Tops Club 506 and enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Janice is survived by her children Jerry (Judy) Asire of Newark, Wanda (Gary) Dutro of Adamsville, Vickie (Ronnie) Ringwalt of New Castle, and Debra (Alvin) Art of Newcomerstown; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 30 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Shirley Mencer.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her son Ricky Asire and brothers Homer and Harry (Donna) Mencer.

Friends and family may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Friday January 29, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Mark Granger officiating.  Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, we are requiring visitors coming to the funeral home to wear their own face masks and we will be limiting the number of attendees inside the building.
