In a normal year, the United Way would recognize out-going board members at its annual recognition breakfast, but because of the pandemic, the breakfast has been cancelled.

The United Way board members can serve up to six years and then after a year’s sabbatical, can be reappointed if desired.

Four ladies are rotating off after serving six, 12 and more than 18 years on the United Way board. Delia Meek from Coshocton Regional Medical Center, Susan Turner, county recorder, Kay Lane recently retired from Jones Metal and Beccy Porteus from Park National Bank have decades of combined service to the United Way.

Lyn Mizer, director said this about the board members for whom she works, “After six or more years, serving in the best interests of the county, you become family. It is always bittersweet when your friends and family rotate off because we know what we have been able to accomplish together and it is so very rewarding. There are countless numbers of great people here and it has been an honor and privilege to serve with these particular great people. I truly hope our paths are not done crossing. On behalf of the entire United Way board, we thank Beccy, Delia, Kay and Susan.”
