Ohio Means Jobs Coshocton County can help job seekers and employers
Looking for employment can be, and often is, a full-time job in and of itself. It can be draining and stressful and exciting all at the same time. It can also be disheartening and frustrating too. Job seekers quite often feel like there are no jobs out there or like there are no jobs that peak their interest. Likewise, some people seeking employment feel unqualified for a job or field they would like to pursue.
The good news is there are in fact jobs available, and even better, there are employment opportunities right in Coshocton County. What’s more, there is help available for job seekers in Coshocton County too.
As a matter of fact, on the lower level of the Department of Job and Family Services building is the Job Center Services, also known as Ohio Means Jobs Coshocton County. There residents can find information on local jobs. They also can access the resource center that is full of necessary technology to aid individuals in the job search process.
“We have 12 computers with high-speed internet, plus a special-needs system for clients with limited vision and/or hearing,” said Shanna Stanton, the business coordinator with Ohio Means Jobs Coshocton County. In addition, there is a group of caring career consultants who genuinely want to help residents not just find a job but assist them in the process.
Through the job center, a variety of workshops are offered each month that are geared toward helping attendees improve their knowledge and gain sills in areas such as computer basics, resume writing and job interviewing skills. What is extra special about these workshops is the fact that they are offered for free so job seekers can reap the benefits of these skills without having to pay for them. They also offer training programs and have a tuition assistance program for eligible individuals who desire to pursue in-demand careers in the area. “We currently have 200 jobs posted. This includes full-time, part-time, seasonal and internships. These are updated and change weekly, and are posted to our website at www.coshoctonjfs.org and our Facebook page, Ohiomeansjobs – Coshocton County” Stanton said.
At the moment, AK Steel is hiring hourly production employees. Annin Flagmakers is looking for packers and sewing machine operators, and while these positions are seasonal, Stanton said they can turn into full-time employment. Similarly, Jones Metal has a quoting engineer position available as well as a hydroform operator position. Kraft Heinz is looking to add more production team members. These are just some of the job postings that can be found on the JFS website.
Additionally, in a press release, Patrick Anderson, owner of Domino’s in Coshocton and Newcomerstown said, “We have a huge need to hire additional team members. In addition to helping job seekers, Ohio Means Jobs Coshocton County also assists employers. They offer free job postings through their website, social media and on their morning radio show. They also provide employment testing and screening services, and they have conference rooms available where employers can conduct interviews or hold career and information fairs.
