Feb. 26 accident reported on 93

On Feb. 26, 2021 at 12:57 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible accident at SR 93 just outside of West Lafayette.

Upon arrival of deputies, it was determined that 59-year-old David Somers of Coshocton, was driving a 1994 Chevy pickup truck northbound just outside of the village. The vehicle he was driving went left of center and off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle continued up an embankment and struck a rock underneath the vehicle. The vehicle continued back down the embankment and back onto SR 93 and stopping in the middle of the road.

The rock did puncture the gas tank and the vehicle was leaking gas. Somers was not injured in the accident. Assisting deputies at the scene were Coshocton County EMS, West Lafayette Fire, West Lafayette Police Department and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
