Donovan “Don” L. Shivers

Donovan “Don” L. Shivers, 74, of Coshocton passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Morrison Hospice House in Zanesville, Ohio.  He was born in Dennison, Ohio on November 17, 1946 to the late Leroy and Jeanne (Huff) Shivers.

Don graduated from West Lafayette High School and Rio Grande University with a bachelor’s degree in history.  He served in the United States Army and worked for Norfolk and Southern Railway for 30 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, American Legion, Eagles, Moose, and Masonic Lodges.  In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary (Aronhalt) Shivers, who he married June 22, 1974; daughters Kellie (James) Nelson of Coshocton and Kerrie (Dino) Marchitello of Florida; brother Kirby Shivers; and special niece Cyndee (Doug) Patterson.

Along with his parents Don is preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Regis Shivers.

Per Donovan’s wishes there will no services at this time and a cremation will take place.  The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.  Memorial contributions can be directed to the American Heart Association. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
