Earl (Red) E. Mansfield

Earl (Red) E. Mansfield, 88, of West Lafayette, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Earl was born on Jan. 13, 1933 in Kirtland, Ohio to the late Harland and Eunice (Burr) Mansfield. He married Mary (Hartong) Mansfield on June 9, 1956.

He served in the United States Navy from January 1951 through December 1953 in the Korean Conflict on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Essex. He was a self-taught engineer and owner of Welshfield Gulf Service and Auburn Implement. He was a founding member of both Newbury Bible Church and Bible Fellowship Church.

Earl is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and children, Kary (Jim) Jamison of Big Prairie, OH; Karla (Ed) Murray of Painesville, OH; and Karl (Gretchen) Mansfield of Fairport Harbor, OH; along with nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Mansfield, and sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Hartong; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many who called him “Dad.”

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Mansfield and sisters-in-law, Ethel and Janet Mansfield; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 1-3 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Calling hours will also be held after the funeral service from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio where military rites will be observed.
