| March 18, 2021

On March 18, dispatch received a 911 call involving a person being struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the New Life Ministries Church on South Seventh Street.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Margaret Deltoro, 60-years-old of Coshocton, driving a 2012 Jeep was entering the church parking lot to pick up groceries, when she failed to come to a complete stop and struck Janice Lapp, 73-years-old of Coshocton, who was standing behind a parked 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup truck owned by Karen Cutshall of Coshocton in front of the church loading her groceries. The tailgate of Lapp’s truck was down at that moment, causing her to be pinned between the tailgate and front bumper of Deltoro’s vehicle.

Also standing behind the truck was Janet Myers, 67-years-old of Coshocton. When Deltoro struck Lapp, the force of her body being pushed forward caused the tailgate to rise up toward its closing position. As this motion occurred, Myer’s arm became pinned between the tailgate and bed of the truck. Lapp was transport to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center for treatment. Myers was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Deltoro was not injured during the incident.

Assisting at the scene was the Coshocton City Fire Department and the Coshocton County EMS. This incident remains under investigation.
