Chamber of commerce annual online auction coming up

| March 24, 2021

Amy Crown, executive director of the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce, has worked tirelessly on this year’s annual online auction. The auction is the chamber of commerce’s only fundraiser each year. The proceeds go into the marketing fund, which allows the chamber of commerce to promote “choose Coshocton” events, as well as pay for social media ads for members, etc.

“We’ve been doing this auction for 40 years. It used to be a live auction at the American Legion and then we went to a closed television auction. However, when Coshocton’s television channel was done away with, we switched to an online auction and have been doing it that way ever since,” Crown said.

The chamber has obtained approximately120 items they will be auctioning off. There are a variety of items being auctioned off including gift certificates and small, large and medium size gift baskets, to name a few. “It’s just a lot of fun,” said Crown as she described how more than 100 different businesses donated this year. “We have over $13,000 worth of items donated right now,” she said.

The chamber has three levels of sponsorship for this event. The silver level is those businesses who have donated $500 while the gold level sponsors donated $750. The platinum level donors are those businesses who donate $1,000 or more toward the auction. The donations allow the auction event to be marketed.

The chamber would like to thank this year’s sponsors who have made it possible to promote the auction: Silver Sponsors – Central Ohio Technical College, Coshocton Regional Medical Center, Fidelity Mortgage Company, Lity’s Scrap Yard, Drown Law Offices, Peoples Bank; Gold Sponsor – MFM Building Products; Platinum Sponsors – The Coshocton County Beacon, Muskingum Valley Health Center and Peddicord Rice Auction Realty.

“We really appreciate the community’s support with this auction. Your support every year means so much and affords us the ability to do for Coshocton. We sincerely appreciate Peddicord Rice for allowing us to use their online auction system all of these years. If it weren’t for Greg and Jane Rice affording us this opportunity, we wouldn’t have an online auction. We are so appreciative of every sponsor, donor, business, chamber member, and all of the residents who participate in the auction. Thank you so much,” Crown said.

Residents can go to the chamber’s homepage by going to www.coshoctonchamber.com. Once there, there is a box that says, “click here for Coshocton County Chamber Online Auction.” Residents can click on the box and register for the auction. Bidding begins on Saturday, March 27 and ends Saturday, April 3. There will be a catalog of items up for bid on the webpage. Pick up of items will be Monday through Friday, April 5-9. The chamber will accept payment of items through check or cash only.
