Vehicle leaves scene after accident
UPDATE: Upon investigation of the collected vehicle parts from the accident scene it has been found that the vehicle in question is possibly a 2016-2018 Nissan Altima, black or dark in color. The damage would be to the front driver’s side area. Additional witnesses stated they believe the vehicle may have continued south on State Rt. 751 after crossing U.S. Rt. 36. If you live in the area and have security cameras please review them to see if the vehicle passed your residence. If anyone has any information about this incident please contact the sheriff’s office.

On March 27, 2021 dispatch received a 911 call in reference to a two-vehicle injury crash on State Rt 751 north of Twp. Rd 250.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a motorcycle operated by 57-year-old Shawn Oneill of Waynesburg, was traveling northbound on State Rt. 751 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling southbound. Oneill then went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and came to rest in a ditch. Oneill and his passenger, 58-year-old Robin Oneill of Waynesburg, were both ejected from the motorcycle. Mrs. Oneill was flown from the scene and Mr. Oneill was transported to CRMC and flown from there to OSU Medical Center with serious injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The unknown vehicle was left of center and after striking the motorcycle fled the scene. Several pieces of evidence were collected from the unknown vehicle. Witnesses to the accident described it as an older vehicle possibly dark blue or black and will have heavy front driver’s side damage. If anyone has information as to the location of the vehicle or the identity of the driver please contact the sheriff’s office.
Assisting at the scene was the Coshocton County EMS, West Lafayette Fire Dept., Bakersville Fire Dept., MedFlight, REACT, and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
