Accident with injuries reported

COSHOCTON – On Nov. 6, 2017 at 2:17 p.m., dispatch received a 911 call in reference to an accident with injuries on SR. 83 near TR. 146.

Upon arrival of deputies, it was determined that a Dodge minivan, being operated by Gene Ramey of East Canton, was traveling North on SR. 83 when he struck the back of a semi-truck. Ramey was wearing his seat belt, but still sustained a head injury and was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The semi-truck was being operated by Joseph Yoder of Fresno, and had just run out of fuel and was occupying the northbound lane. Yoder did not sustain any injuries. Prior the incident, Yoder did not have enough time to put out safety equipment.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Conesville Fire Department, Coshocton County EMS, Coshocton County REACT, Princes Wrecker Service and MedFlight.
