Agnes E. Bechtol
Agnes E. Bechtol, age 92, of Coshocton, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022. She was born on September 11, 1930, in West Union, West Virginia to the late Lloyd and Mary (Spurr) Demastus.
She graduated from Victory High School and attended the Cleveland Bible College, where she met the love of her life, Fred Bechtol. They were married on April 10, 1953 and spent 57 wonderful years together until Fred’s passing on June 26, 2010.
Agnes was a member of the Coshocton Church of the Nazarene and was a church greeter for many years. She and her husband Fred volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years and she volunteered at the Senior Center in Coshocton. Agnes was an award-winning candy-maker at the Coshocton County Fair and enjoyed baking, especially pies and cookies. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and will be remembered for her kindness and love she showed to others.
She is survived by her two daughters, Winnie Ellis of Coshocton and Melody (Doug) Albertson of Dresden; four grandchildren, Nathan (Jillian) Holmes, Jonathan (Amanda) Holmes PhD, Melanie (Zach) Binckley and Garret (Cassady) Albertson; six great-grandchildren, Aurora, Ashlynn, Matera, Julian, Bristol and Van; and by her sister, Orpha Swiger.
Along with her parents and husband, Agnes is preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Ellis and siblings, James and Donald Demastus, Betty Hochadel, Mildred Dotson and Ella Stewart.
Calling hours were held on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Burial will followed at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
