Alex Franklin Jonard
Alex Franklin Jonard, 86, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. He was born in Tiltonsville, Ohio on April 4, 1935, to the late Alex R. and Helen Gertrude (Munnell) Jonard.
Alex worked for White Transportation, General Electric, was the owner and operator of Jonard’s Furniture Clinic and A. J.’s Custom Woodcrafts both in West Lafayette, he was a bus driver for Hopewell Industries and was a driver for Longaberger for many years before retiring; he was a member of the Church of Christ. Alex enjoyed woodworking, bass fishing, hunting, camping, and cooking.
Alex is survived by his children, Brenda Berry, Carol Hardesty, Denise Guthrie, Kevin Jonard, Alex F. Jonard II, Lynda Hamilton, Noelle Merryman, and Jason Jonard. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Beatrice Ann (Angle) Jonard who passed away in 2011, and his brothers, Paul and Robert Jonard, and sister, Helen Munjas.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Evangelist Lloyd Tenney. Burial will take place at Coshocton County Memory Gardens following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alex’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
