Alice (Ramsey) Gross, 96, has finished her race. She was much loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Alice was born March 11, 1926, and passed away on Aug. 2, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Cohocton County with the exception of living in Amarillo, TX from 1950-1964, and then El Paso from ’64-66. She retired from the Coshocton County Treasures Office after 25 years of service, and also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Coshocton County Regional Medical Center for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, gardening, genealogy, and making her own clothes and making beautiful quilts for all the family and newborns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Ramsey; her husband, Roy Gross; her sons, Scott and Niles; a great grandson, Grant Gross; sisters, Mary Ramsey, Audrey Ramsey, and Lois McKee, and a brother, James Ramsey.

Surviving is her son, Theodore (Barbara) Gross; daughter-in-law, Debby (Scott) Gross; grandchildren, Amy (Steven) Painter, Megan (Ryan) Smith, Curtis (Jennifer) Gross, Tyson (Rachel) Gross, and Heather (Brian) Roush; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would especially like to thank Victory Baptist and Signature for their loving care, friendship, and kindness towards our mother. A cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, with Pastor Ralph Johnson officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior. Private interment will take place at Smith Hill/Union Cemetery near Tunnel Hill.

Memorial donations can be made to the Victory Baptist Church, 335 Browns Lane Coshocton, 43812. Condolences can be shared with the family at fischerfuneralhome.com.
