America in Bloom launches national certification program
America in Bloom, a national non-profit organization, is proud to announce a new sustainability initiative sweeping across the United States recognizing exemplary gardens and landscapes in residential, commercial, educational, and public space properties.
America in Bloom’s Gardens Across America program is a self-certification program honoring those properties that showcase environmental, sustainable, and civic beatification efforts in their home gardens, business property, places of worship, or public gardens.
“As a proven leader in sustainability, America in Bloom has supported community beautification and environmental efforts in more than 370 communities in 44 states, impacting more than 22 million people. Cities, towns, and municipalities of all sizes have memorialized thousands of actions and initiatives to lead sustainability efforts for generations to come through floral impact, landscaped areas, urban forestry, cultural heritage, and environmental efforts that create award winning communities,” said Rod Barnes, president of the America in Bloom board of directors. “We invite all gardeners across America to join the movement and certify your property today.”
Barnes said, “This prestigious designation certifies and registers exceptional gardens across America that showcase principles of sustainable gardening, beautification efforts, and seasonal variety and textures that create community vitality and pride. Collectively, we are creating a sweeping movement across the United States, one garden at a time.”
America in Bloom provides an easy-to-use online self-assessment tool to certify your property through the Gardens Across America program. Once certified, you can share your accomplishment and commitment to helping your community through community vitality, beautification, and environmental stewardship.
The process to earn your certificate takes a few minutes. For a nominal fee, you will receive:
