Lorenz PicArleen Jean (Engle) Lorenz, 90, of Coshocton died Monday January 12, 2015 at Autumn Extended Care Facility. She was born May 31, 1924 in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Charles C. and Beulah Elizabeth (Levengood) Engle. She was a 1942 graduate of Baltic High School and worked at Firestone during World War II. She was a lifelong member of the former St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Bedford and was currently a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Coshocton. She was deeply religious and loved to read. A talented homemaker, she enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and garden. On July 19, 1947 she married Jay L. Lorenz who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Diane (Max) Cox of Coshocton and a son, David (Linda) Lorenz of Warsaw; two grandsons, Andrew (Lori) Cox of Warsaw and Rev. Anthony Lorenz of Mercersburg, PA; three great-grandchildren, Bryar, Warren, and Carolyn Cox; a sister, Ruth (Don) Shepler of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her twin sister, Eileen Scheetz; grandson, Jason Cox; and step-mother, Jean (Schumaker) Engle. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice”, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
