The Second annual Bakersville Homecoming Royalty soup dinner will be held on Saturday, March 22, at Bakersville Community Church, 28164 CR 97 in Newcomerstown.
The menu includes chicken noodle, broccoli cheese, cheesy potato, chili, beef-n-noodles, chicken-n-rice, hot dogs, toasted cheese sandwiches (gluten and gluten free), desserts, and drinks. To-go containers will be available as well. Dinner will start at 4 p.m. and go until there is no more food to serve.
All proceeds will benefit the future of the Bakersville Homecoming Royalty program. This past year two new categories were added, king for grades ninth through 12th and little tractor prince and princess for age 1-3. For this summer’s contest the princess category will be split into two. One will be for grades three to five and the second one grades six to eight. This will bring the total categories to seven.
“We are looking forward to giving back to our community by serving them a nice warm bowl of soup and grilled cheese,” said Renee Stein, royalty director.
