Barbara J. Stingel

Barbara Joyce (Everhart) Stingel, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Lafayette Pointe, where she was a resident.

She was born Jan. 25, 1938, in Coshocton to the late George Washington Everhart and Marjorie Mahalya (Evans) Everhart. She married Donald E. Stingel on July 30, 1954, who preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2016.

Barb was a master quilter for over 40 years, she starting sewing to make clothing for her kids. She loved to cook, her husband and kids always had a home cooked meal ready for dinner. She was an avid reader, and in her later years she mastered Facebook to keep in touch with family.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Kandy) Stingel of Windsor, VA, and Mike (Pam) Stingel of Dresden; two daughters, Judy (Matt Heston) Stingel of Coshocton, and Theresa (Greg) Asire of Zanesville; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Fitzgerald of Coshocton; a brother, David (Sally) Everhart of West Lafayette; a brother-in-law, Jerry Longaberger of Dresden; and a daughter-in-law, Davonne Stingel of Coshocton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Stingel; two brothers, James and Ted Everhart; and six sisters, Ruth Vandevender, Phyllis Kinner, Marjorie Atha, Donna Longaberger, Patricia Dickerson, and Jean Cornelius.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, with Alan Cornelius and the Rev. Wes George officiating.
