Barn collapses in fire with injuries and fatalities reported
COSHOCTON – On June 18 at approximately 7:22 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to a structure fire with possible entrapment in the 21000 block of State Rt. 60. Upon arrival of the Walhonding Valley Fire Dept., the barn was fully involved and collapsing. It was later confirmed to be a fatal fire and the State Fire Marshall’s Service was contacted to assist in the investigation. One subject was transported to Genesis in Zanesville for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire. The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Walhonding Valley Fire Dept. with the investigation. Also assisting at the scene was Jackson Twp Fire Dept., Coshocton County EMS., and the Coshocton County Coroner Dr. Robert Gwinn.
