Bears beat state ranked Hiland

The River View Boys Black Bears improve to 8-1 as they hand the Division III  number seven state ranked Berlin Hiland their first loss on the season by a score of 6-1 at River View Soccer complex.

The Bears would strike first by getting a beautiful pass from Cael Summers to Parker Andrews at the 31:32 mark in the first. But the Hawks did not remain idle as Zeke Bodiker would match the Bears about a minute later at 30:31 left in  the first half tying the game 1-1. The Bears would retake the lead with 11:33 to remain in the first off another assist from Cael Summers but this time to Camden Albertson making it 2-1 in favor of the black bears and that’s where it would remain until halftime.

In the second half Cael Summers would start the Bears off with a banger from about 35 yards out off a pass from Hayden Walters. Then he would strike again at 25:05 left to play in the second half but this time from a pass from Camden Albertson making the score 4-1. The fifth goal was scored off a header from Camden Albertson to Brody Stevens who finally found the back of the net. The final goal came with 6:56 to go in the game as Parker Andrews slid one across the box to Hayden Walters putting the icing on the cake making the final 6-1. Layton Massie added six saves for the Black Bears, Blaze Kline added one and two defenders Chase Wright and Camden Albertson both added a non keeper save for the Bears. Chase Coblentz collected 10 saves.
The Bears improve to 8-1 on the season and will head to Dover on Wednesday to take on the Tornados and Berlin Hiland falls to 5-1-2 on the season and will travel to Canton Central Catholic on Tuesday. In the JV game Hiland defeated River View 2-1.
