Ben and wifeBenjamin F. Wertz Jr., 80, of Baltic, formerly of Fresno passed away at Oak Point Nursing Home in Baltic on Tuesday August 26, 2014.

Ben was born in Unionville, PA on September 9, 1933 to the late Benjamin Wertz Sr. and Helen (Huss) Wertz. He served in the US Air Force, was a truck driver for Yellow Trucking and was a professional roller skater.

Ben is survived by his two children Barry (Carol) Wertz of Parkesburg, PA and Debbie (Ray Minninger) Maurer of Sinking Springs, PA; grandchildren Megan (Jay) Kozak, Jessica (Danny) Giles, Jeremy (Nicole) Maurer, Melissa (Moe) Morris; great-grandchildren Heather, Kaden, Ashlyn, Sean, Autumn, Aubrey, Natalie, Jacob, and Zachary; brother and sister from Pennsylvania.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Fern D. Wertz whom he married February 27, 1957; granddaughter Heather Mower and brothers and sisters.

USFlagSunlightHC1311_X_300_C_YFriends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday August 30, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 11:00 AM for Fairview Cemetery, Fresno for the committal service, Pastor Starkey Lawrence will be officiating. Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors.
