Betty D. Bratton
Betty D. Bratton, 93, of Coshocton, passed away at her home on January 19, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Betty was born in Pulaski, VA, to the late Robert and Hazel (Kane) Via on January 10, 1932. Betty graduated from Pulaski High School in 1950. On December 22, 1951, she married the love of her life Charles “Doug” Bratton, who preceded her in death June 8, 2006.
Betty and Charles later moved to Coshocton and raised three boys James (Connie) Bratton, Wayne Bratton and Paul (Julie) Bratton, all of Coshocton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Roger) Matherly of Colonial Beach, VA.
Betty retired from Edmont Wilson in Coshocton and was a member of the Coshocton Baptist Church. For years she was a very avid Tops 1574 member, and loved to walk, logging hundreds of miles. After retirement Betty was a Longaberger Basket Consultant. Betty had a heart of gold, and she never met a stranger. People often would ask when she moved to Ohio as she never lost her southern accent.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Doug Via, Jack Via, and Gene Via; and two sisters, Marie (Via) Keesling and Doris Via.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 at Fischer Funeral Home, 412 E. Main St. Warsaw, OH. 43844, with Rev. Paul Schwab officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton Co.
