Betty I. Zimmerman

Betty I. Zimmerman, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1932 in Coshocton County to the late Lyman Hobert and Marjorie (McBride) Wright.

After graduating from Roscoe High School, she married Burton Zimmerman on August 29, 1954. Betty worked for Hayes Jewelers when she was younger and then she and Burton farmed their land in Fresno.

She was a longtime member of Fresno United Methodist Church and was a 70-year member of the Progressive Valley Grange. Betty was a State Fair Judge for pies and cakes and enjoyed spending time on her farm with family and friends.

She is survived by her special friend, Dennis Sheetz; special niece, Frederick (Nancy) Zimmerman, and her other loving nieces and nephews, Dan (Jane) Miller, Doug (Kathy) Wright, Chuck (Pat) Zimmerman, Art (Diane) Zimmerman, Bobby (Jeannie) Zimmerman, Elmer (Lynnelle) Zimmerman Frank Zimmerman, Nancy Lahmers, Kathy Karr and Mary (Steve) Mullet; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Burton, who passed away on February 10, 2005; her brother and sister-in-law, Lyman (Janet) Wright and two nephews, Kevin Wright and Donald Zimmerman.

Calling hours were held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Fresno United Methodist Church. A funeral service was held at the church at 12:00 pm with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
