Betty Jean Andrews

WEST LAFAYETTE – Betty Jean Andrews, 84, of West Lafayette, Ohio, formerly of The Plains and Athens, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Riverside Manor Nursing Home following a short illness.  She was born in Athens County on August 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Vaughn and Bereda (Lonas) Brown.

Betty graduated from The Plains High School and worked at McBee’s before moving to West Lafayette.  Betty spent the rest of her life as a homemaker.  She was a member of the Ridgewood Music Boosters for 11 years.  She spent many hours recruiting volunteers to work in the concession and fair stand and serve as chaperones.  She and her husband also chaired numerous fundraisers including the fruitcake and community calendar sales.  Betty also enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband in their motorhome.  Betty loved to play the piano and do word finds.  She was a devoted fan of Days of Our Lives and OSU football.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her family.  She enjoyed attending concerts, sporting events, and school activities for all of her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending Coshocton Community Choir concerts. She also attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. On August 28, 1953 Betty married Darrell Roy Andrews who preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by two sons, Brian (Kathy) Andrews of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Mark (Karen) Andrews of West Lafayette, Ohio; one daughter Lora Jean (Terry) Davis of Dover, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda (Damion) Balog of Grove City, Ohio, Malinda (Anderson) Reinheimer of Grove City, Ohio, Ryan Andrews of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Kyle (fiancée Crystal Evans) Andrews of Brewton, Alabama and Mark Davis of Dover, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Matthew Reinheimer, Leah Reinheimer, Quinna Balog, Soraya Balog, and Torren Balog; and brother Darrell (Donna) Brown of The Plains, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers John Brown, Dana Brown, and an infant brother.

Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 pm with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
