| November 17, 2015

COSHOCTON – Coshocton City Council President Cliff Biggers announced that he has filed a petition to run as the Republican candidate for District 72 for the Ohio House of Representatives. The seat encompasses Coshocton and Perry counties and the eastern portion of Licking County. It is now held by Representative Bill Hayes who is not seeking reelection.

In addition to being Coshocton City Council President, Biggers, 64, retired as a detective with the major crimes unit of the Newark Police Department after 25 plus years of service. He also has served as the pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, an intercultural congregation in Coshocton, for 25 years.

Biggers is also the founder and the director of Race Relations Research, Inc. He was educated in San Bernardino, Calif., before moving to Ohio.

Biggers sees the big issues before the district as health care, infrastructure, and the economy. He states that his experience in business, community affairs, and human relations make him a uniquely qualified candidate.

“As individual attitudes evolve, then we expect to see collective thinking evolve as well,” he said.

Biggers first faces a primary election in March 2016, followed by the general election in November 2016. He resides in Coshocton with his wife of 37 years, Jennifer.
