Blissfield UMC hosting event
BLISSFIELD – The Blissfield United Methodist Church is hosting an evening of praise and thanksgiving with The Fawks Family on Sunday, Nov. 19, beginning at 7 p.m. All are invited to the old-fashion hymn sing and time of inspiration.
Jason Fawks, his wife Jenny, and their two daughters Joy and Faith, are known as the Fawks Family Minstrels, and they see music as a universal language, a gift from God, which has the ability to touch people like few things can.
Jason has a master’s degree in international development and has served on the adjunct teaching staff for William Carey International University in Pasadena, Calif. He is accomplished on a variety of instruments, including piano, harp, classical guitar, ukulele, Irish whistle, accordion, dulcimer and harmonica; and Jason enjoys many styles of music, including hymns and gospel, Celtic, classical, light jazz and standards.
“Hymns on a Steinway” is a recording of traditional hymns Fawks arranged on a Steinway Grand piano.
He and/or his family have performed at Jitters Coffee House in Millersburg, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, and regularly on Saturday nights at the Amish Door in Wilmot.
The Blissfield United Methodist Church is located off State Route 60, about 10 minutes north of River View High School. A free will offering will be taken.
