BPW Cake Auction to be held Nov. 4
The annual Business Professional Women’s Cake Auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Frontier Power Community Room on Second Street in Coshocton. This year, the theme is “The Movies.” Cakes can be viewed and voted on from noon to 4 p.m. The auction begins at 4 p.m.
Everyone can vote on their favorite cakes. Trophies will go to best kid’s cake, most original, and people’s choice.
Kim Gress, vice-president of the BPW, said last year there were 17 kids’ cakes and 38 adult cakes. “They are coming in slow right now. Hopefully, since fair is over, things will pick up. Most cakes have an incentive that goes with them. Incentives can be tickets to the movies, gift baskets, gift cards and a lot of businesses will have the incentive represent the company. For example, the Ohio State Cake had a lot of OSU items with it.”
The BPW uses the money raised from the cake auction for a wide variety of local projects. “We work hard to actively support all of the BPW’s community work.” The money is used for their Working Women’s Scholarship Fund, NIKE Girls at River View High School, co-sponsoring Girls Buckeye State with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #65, Dollars for Scholars, and many other local needs.
There is still time to donate a cake for the auction. Registration forms can be obtained by emailing bpwcakeauction@gmail.com. Registration ends on Friday, Oct. 27.
