Car show and concert planned for July 15
The Three Rivers Fire District and Our Town Coshocton are partnering to plan a day of free fun and entertainment for the community with the Jason Fisher Memorial Car Show, followed by a concert on the square on Saturday, July 15, on Main Street in Coshocton.
Affectionately known as,” Fish,” Jason Fisher was a long-time member/volunteer of the Three Rivers Fire District, who died in 2022. According to this year’s spokesman, Luke Widder, “Having previously been responsible for promoting the organization’s annual fundraising event for more than a decade as the safety officer, we thought naming this car show in his honor would be another great way to offer tribute to Fish.”
Offered as a community service event, the car show also serves as a fundraiser for the Three Rivers Fire District. Funds raised at this year’s event will provide for a custom-made cabinet that houses memorabilia in honor of Jason Fisher.
The car show will take place on the corner of Fourth and Main streets. In addition to cars, there will also be categories for motorcycles, big trucks, and big equipment. There is a $10 registration fee. Car show registration starts at noon, with class trophies being awarded at 4:45 p.m. Showcasing cars will all receive dash plaques.
According to Widder, this family friendly event will also include door prizes, a 50/50 drawing. and activities such as a hula hoop contest, frisbee, cornhole, and bounce houses for children provided by Chili Crossroads Bible Church. The event will feature help from additional 4-H groups and the Three Rivers Fire District Ladies Auxiliary.
The Three Rivers Fire District is a volunteer organization. Two stations are being operated, the north station in Canal Lewisville and the south station on Cedar Street. Currently the organization has 32 volunteers. The fire district volunteers meet as a team on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. The organization is actively recruiting volunteers. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteering with this organization is encouraged to contact Chief Lynn Powelson at 740-622-9361 or follow the group on Facebook.
Following the car show will be the second in the Our Town Coshocton Summer Concert Series. Dirty Deeds, an AC/DC tribute band, will be performing at 7 p.m. on Main Street. According to their press agent, “The Dirty Deeds concert experience is truly extreme, complete with exciting stage props and non-stop action. Assembled by former members of several popular AC/DC tribute bands, this all-star cast is bringing the ultimate AC/DC tribute show to new heights with the most accurate recreation of the AC/DC music and stage show, second to none. Mike Andy was the tour manager for the original AC/ DC for four world tours and endorses the band as the number one AC/DC tribute band.”
Both the car show and the concert are free to attend.
