COSHOCTON COUNTY – The Coshocton County Career Center had their 2019 National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction ceremony on Tuesday, May 7. This year, the career center welcomed 13 new NTHS members.

To be nominated for membership into the NTHS, students must first be enrolled in a vocational program at the Coshocton County Career Center for at least one semester and have earned an A in their vocational lab and related classes. First year students must have a GPA of at least 3.30. Credit recovery courses do not count towards the GPA. Second year students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have maintained an A in the vocational lab and related courses. All students must have a 95 percent or better attendance rate.

After determining the list of qualified students, they are asked to apply for membership to the society. Each qualifying student receives a packet containing an application for admission to NTHS, a letter of personal interest from the candidate, and two letters of recommendation, one from either the vocational instructor or an academic instructor, and one from a community member. After the completed packets are received, the selection committee composed of faculty and administration members meet to review the student’s packet and make their recommendation for membership.

Congratulations to the 2019 NTHS Inductees. This year’s inductees are: Maddison Kohl, Lacey Smith, Jessie Ruby, Mallory Stotts, Mackenzie Carr, Kierstan Kiefner, Allison Hennis, Alexis Robbinson, Eric Kron, Logan Ponte, Austin Fowler, Keshia Hart, and Grace Miller.
