Carl R. Thorpe

Carl R. Thorpe, 84, of Coshocton passed away at Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation after a brief illness.

Carl was born in Norristown, PA on March 4, 1940, to the late George and Dorothy (Zaehringer) Thorpe Sr.

He spent fourteen years at McWane Ductile before owning and operating his own Barber Shop in Coshocton, “Carl’s Barbershop.”  Carl enjoyed feeding the birds, birdwatching, spending time with his family and friends, and was quite the “Jack of all trades.”  He was also a member of the Coshocton Eagles.

Carl is survived by his children John Thorpe of Topeka, KS, Jeffery S. Thorpe of Coshocton, Beth (Greg) Wells of Richfield, OH and Chad Thorpe of Adamsville, OH; sister Lois Thompkins of Norristown, PA; grandchildren Cody Thorpe, Tucker (Riley) Thorpe, Mandi Wells, Carri Wells, Devin Thorpe, Shane (Shannon) Grant, Shawn Grant, Keagan, Cannon, Tanzie and Cona Thorpe; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Mike Thorpe; grandson Tyler S. Thorpe; three brothers Bob, Jerry and Geroge Thorpe Jr.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday January 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday.  Funeral services for Carl will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Jansen officiating.  Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
