Carla Lane Baumer
Carla Lane Baumer, 61 of Coshocton, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. She was born in Coshocton on Sept. 19, 1960, to Dale Wright and Margie Scherer.
Carla was one of the kindest ladies one could ever meet. Quick to smile, her approachable demeanor made her a friend to all. She held fast to her belief in God, always giving Him the credit for getting her through life’s challenges. She was a great encourager to all who knew her.
Carla was a faithful wife and mom and put others first in her daily life. She loved cooking, baking, and hosting get-togethers with family and friends. Her biggest passion in life was tending to her special needs son, Chad. She cared for him for 39 years until the Lord called him home. Her family was her greatest joy in life. She and her husband, Chuck, were blessed with three children and three beautiful grandchildren. Carla enjoyed spending time with all of her family, but especially cherished her role as “Mammaw.”
Carla graduated from River View High School in 1978 and was a stay at home mom while her children were young. She also worked in real estate for several years and owned and operated the UPS Store for a time. Carla was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Chuck Baumer; two daughters, Cara (Jarred) Renner and Crista (Nathan) Berry; and her precious grandchildren, Caden, Kensie, and Lucy Renner. Also surviving are her parents, Margie Scherer and Dale (Dixie) Wright; sisters, Cris (Shawn) Ramsey, Charee (Brian) Noe, Cherlyn (Matt) Leppla; brothers, Clinton (Elizabeth) Wright, Craig Scherer; parents-in-law, Charles and Shirley Baumer; siblings-in-law, Jeff (Anita) Baumer, Beth (Wayne) Cormack, Greg (Sharon) Baumer; and many beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chad Baumer; brother, Curtis Wright; stepfather, Richard Scherer; sister-in-law, Mary (Matthew Sr.) Elvin; and several grandparents.
Carla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Carla Baumer to Victory Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with Pastor Ralph Johnson officiating.
A celebration of Carla’s life will be scheduled at a later date. The Miller Funeral Home, Coshocton is serving the family. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
