Celebration of life planned for Dan Mitchell

COSHOCTON – A celebration of life for the late Dan Mitchell will be held Saturday, July 6, at The Riverfront, 51 Pine St. Doors will open at 2 p.m. and music will start at 4 p.m. Bring lawn chairs as activities will be held outside weather permitting. There will be raffles, cornhole, baked goods and food for $5 a plate.

Mitchell was born and raised in Coshocton.  He graduated from River View High School in 1971 and owned Mitchell’s Music Box. He was an award winning singer, songwriter and producer who co-wrote “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band. He most recently was inducted into the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame.

Mitchell died unexpectedly on May 21. All donations raised on July 6 will go to help with medical bills.
