Celia “May” Grubb

Celia “May” Grubb, age 97, of Coshocton went home with the Lord on June 12, 2024 after a brief stay at Signature Healthcare.

May was the daughter of Frank S. and Vera L. (Kelley) Eaches.  She was born January 29, 1927 in Superior, Lawrence County, Ohio.

May was known as the “Zucchini Bread Lady”.  She loved reading and crocheting.  She was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church.

May married Thomas Palmer “Pal” Grubb June 23, 1945 who passed away March 30, 1996, after 50 years of marriage.

She is survived by daughter in law Sherry (Mathis) Grubb; 3 grandchildren Thomas A. Grubb, John E. (Tish) Grubb and Penny L. Brown all of Akron; 5 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister Faye (Joe) Henderson; sister-in-law Audrey Eaches of Coshocton; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Thomas Daniel “Dan” Grubb; 7 brothers Frank Junior Eaches, Joe Eaches, Raymond Eaches, Virgil Eaches, Larry Eaches, George Eaches, Gerry Eaches; 2 sisters Louise Shipman and Edith Hart.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the Free Funeral Home, 788 S. Second St., Coshocton with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating.  Burial will follow at Canal Lewisville Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
