NEWARK – At a meeting of the Lifelong Learning Institute, Bonnie L. Coe, Ph.D., Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) president was honored for the college’s continuing support of the Annual Reynoldsburg Civil War Encampment and Reenactment. Dressed in Civil War-era uniforms, Event Co-Chairs and members of the Society of Civil War Surgeons Robert Mergel and Peter D’Onofrio presented Coe with two plaques signifying the college’s continuing support of their event.

Coe accepted the awards and expressed the college’s appreciation for what their reenactment represents. “Your event brings history to life for our students.” Adding, “It’s simply all about strengthening education.”

The award presentation was attended by Lifelong Learning Institute members. Launched in July 2004, the Institute offers a year-round menu of courses, “Coffee and Conversation” events, lectures, writing workshops, and book discussions hosted by COTC’s Pataskala Campus.

Central Ohio Technical College is a fully accredited, two-year public college dedicated to providing high quality, accessible programs of technical education in response to current and emerging employment needs, as well as encouraging the professional development of students, staff, faculty and administrators to assist them in achieving their maximum potential. COTC operates campus locations in Newark, Coshocton, Knox and Pataskala.
