Chamber to have 33rd annual online auction

| March 18, 2015

COSHOCTON – The 33rd annual Chamber Auction begins Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m. This year, the auction boasts more than 200 items donated from local businesses with a total market value of more than $14,000. There’s something for everyone of all ages including a wide variety of gift certificates for overnight stays, massages, a three-person airplane ride, and even eye exams, and many more. Gift baskets are sure to be popular items with baskets filled with chocolate, wines, and cheeses. Or, pamper your pet with a gift basket filled with dog grooming items.

To participate, log on to coshoctonchamber.com and click on the auction button. There, you can view each item up for bid, the latest bid received, and the market value of the item. All bidders must register through Peddicord Rice Auction Realty and receive a bid number. Bidders in years past who have already registered do not need to register again.

There is no set dollar amount on a starting bid. Bidders may start their bid at $1 or above. Once other bids have been received on an item, other bidders on that item will receive a notification letting them know that they have been out-bid.

“It gets to be very competitive and fun,” said Amy Stockdale, Coshocton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “It’s a great way for businesses to highlight their business and the money we raise goes right back to marketing our businesses.”

Once the auction closes on March 28 at noon, the winning bidder will receive a notification. Items can be picked up the following week at the Chamber office, which is located at Central Ohio Technical College at 200 N. Whitewoman St. Cash or check will be accepted as a form of payment. No credit or debit cards, please.

“It’s a fun way to support your Chamber of Commerce which supports your community,” said Stockdale. “And, you get something in return.”

If you want to see these items in person before you bid, stop by the Chamber office during normal business hours to view the items. Business hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stockdale would like to thank all of the volunteers who have put in hours making phone calls to local businesses asking for donations and picking up donations for the Chamber.

“We have a great volunteer team,” said Stockdale. “They are the ones who go out and do all the field work. They do a fabulous job. I couldn’t do it without them”

Corporate sponsors for the Chamber auction are: Peddicord Rice Auction Realty, Interim Health Care, MFM, Central Realty, COTC, Lity’s Scrap Yard, Century National Bank, and Jones Metal.
