Charles B. “David” Gonter
Charles B. “David” Gonter, 34, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He sadly leaves behind his two greatest accomplishments, his children, Aubriana Wilcox and Tegan Gonter; parents Beth (Tony) West and Charles B. D. Gonter Sr.; brothers A.J. (Kelsey) West and Jared Wiggins; sister Odessa Gonter; grandparents Jim and Sandra Sycks and Paul and Marilyn Gonter; great grandfather Dale Shaw; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Gonter, great grandmother Dorothy Shaw; uncle Richie Hothem and cousin and dear friend Marshall Gonter. For those of you who knew our son, he was, and always will remain, Cleveland Browns’ #1 fan. He often said that he bled orange and brown and he probably did. For you other diehard fans, take heart. The Browns now have a most deserving angel, and if David has any say in the matter, they will have a winning season next year. Another passion of his was trading sports cards, and he adored fishing. He was also the “Selfie King” this side of the hemisphere. His sense of humor was unmatched, and his kindness and manners were what others often commented on, which makes a mother’s heart smile. He was a loyal friend to so many who will greatly miss his wit, orneriness and presence. We would like to thank everyone who was a positive influence on our David. Knowing that he is no longer in pain and in God’s loving embrace eases our grief somewhat. To those of you reading this obituary, I would like to say this… hug your kids tightly and tell them that you love them every day. The chance to do so again might not be there and writing their obituary is absolutely heartbreaking. Rest easy and be at peace Sweetheart. You will forever and ever be in our hearts. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
