Charlotte Henderson
Charlotte Henderson, 70, of Stow formerly of West Lafayette passed away Monday April 5, 2021 at her home. She was born in North Olmsted, Ohio on October 12, 1950 to the late Harry P. and Helen (Marcin) Beck.
Charlotte attended St. Richards Church through grade school and graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1968. She attended Cleveland State, briefly, before moving on to The Ohio State University where she earned a BA in Spanish in 1972 and BS in Education in Spanish and French in 1974. In 1996, she then received her master’s in education from Ashland University.
She began teaching at Cambridge Junior High School from 1974 to 1978, where she met her husband of 19 years, Lee Henderson. In 1978, she began teaching at River View High School, she was there for 36 years before retiring. During her teaching years, she took six classes of students abroad to England, France, Spain, Switzerland, and Mexico to practice their Spanish and French and learn the culture.
Charlotte was a very involved member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; she was a reader and lector for the church and was also on the Sacred Heart School board and was PTO President. During her free time, she enjoyed paint night with her friends at the Frame Shop and while visiting her daughter, Stephanie, in San Diego. She was also a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she never missed a game!
Charlotte is survived by her three main loves, her daughters, Stephanie (Markus) Scheler, Lindsay (Jamie) Clarke, and Christie (Jacob Burkhart) Henderson; 5 grandchildren Skye, Reese, Brynlee, Bodhi, and Ryker; brothers Phil and Blaise Beck, sisters Monica (Barry) Garvin, Daria (Scott) Jablonski, Priscilla (Greg) Sorency, Roberta (Randy) Cales; former husband Lee Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth, Harry, and Matthew Beck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday April 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Tuesday at 10:30am with Father Jeff Coning officiating.
A Celebration of life will follow the Mass of Christian Burial at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Tuesday from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Burial of Charlottes cremated remains will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com
Due to Covid-19, we are requiring visitors coming to the funeral home to wear their own face masks and we will be limiting the number of attendees inside the building.
