Child abuse case being investigated
COSHOCTON – On Sept. 8, deputies were called to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in reference to a 7-month-old child being the victim of apparent child abuse. The child was later transported to Akron Children’s Hospital by Air Bear Helicopter.
In the early hours of Sept. 11, the young child died at Akron Children’s Hospital from injuries sustained in the abuse.
On Sept. 14, an adult male was taken into custody, pending the filing of formal charges by Coshocton County Prosecutor Jason Given.
Assisting Coshocton County Deputies and detectives with this murder investigation are Coshocton County Children’s Services and the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
