Child struck by car

COSHOCTON – On April 29, at approximately 12:27 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to a car pedestrian accident with injuries at S.7th St and Popular. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a 1998 Buick Century which was being driven by Dominic McClung, age19, of Coshocton had been driving westbound on Popular going towards S.7th St., when a 9-year-old boy ran out between two parked cars heading northbound towards the Himebaugh Lot. The vehicle did not get stopped in time and struck the boy. The boy was transported to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center and then flown by Med Flight to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio.

Assisting at the scene was the Coshocton City Fire, Coshocton County EMS and Princes Wrecker Service. The accident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
