“My father in law always says everything can always be made better,” said Pastor Neal Dearyan, from Chili Crossroads Bible Church. “We want to be a big part of the community and are always looking for ways to be a help to the area.” To this end, the church has decided to open a preschool in the fall of 2020.

On Jan. 30, the Chili Crossroads Preschool Open House was held to show parents the facility and answer questions they may have. “We are so excited to offer world class care for little ones. We know a lot of parents are looking for care for their little ones at a reasonable cost.”

The preschool’s new teachers are members of the church, but the preschool is open to everyone. The new staff traveled to Illinois for training at the church Julie Dearyan grew up in. “I started helping in the preschool when I was 15,” she said.  “I love having the kids once a week here at church and I’m so excited to be an even bigger part of their lives. It’s just amazing to me. I love kids and I think that’s something parents look for in a preschool – to know that their children are loved and safe.”

Pastor Dearyan shared that there will be cameras in all of the rooms and everyone who is authorized to pick up children will have a key fob that will let them into the church. They will also have a code to sign children in and out. “And we will be using Bright Wheel – it lets us send updates to parents throughout the day, like maybe a craft the child made or that they finished all their vegetables at lunch.”

“We are keeping the classes small and created what we would want for our own kids.”

The preschool will offer full days from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., half days from 8 a.m. to noon, and preschool only from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Before and after school care is also available, with possible transportation services for after school. A Mommy and Me class will be held for 2-year-olds and a parent who must stay with the child.  Preschool classes are offered one to five days a week, as desired by the family.

Chili Crossroads will also be offering summer camps again for ages 3 to sixth grade. There are six weeks to choose from at a cost of $85 per week. Choices include adventure camp, animal world, detective camp, inventor’s camp, wilderness camp and art and sports camp. Call the church at 740-545-9707 for more information on the preschool or summer camps.
