CHS falls to Ridgewood in volleyball

On Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30, in West Lafayette, a pair of country rivals met across the net, as the Generals hosted the Coshocton Redskins. In a five-set thriller, it was Coshocton falling to Ridgewood by the scores of 25-15, 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, and 9-15.

For the Redskins, Lacey Guthrie had 15 kills and 22 assists. Leah Mathias pounded 13 kills, while Kenidi Jackson also reached double-figures with 11. Jaeli Tiedt led the defense with 22 digs while Saige Abbott added 13.

In the JV contest, the Redskins fell to the Generals by the scores of 26-24, 17-25, 18-25.

Mallorie Stamper had eight kills and four ace serves for the Red and Black. Kylee Raber added seven kills.

On Tuesday night, Oct. 2, in Byesville, the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team paid a visit to the state-ranked Meadowbrook Colts. In a three-set affair, the ‘Skins fell by the scores of 13-25, 20-25, and 17-25.

Lacey Guthrie led Coshocton with nine kills, nine assists and three ace serves. Kenidi Jackson added seven kills while Lilah Laaper and Leah Mathias each tallied three. On defense, Jaeli Tiedt collected 13 digs and Jackson added nine.

The hosts made it a clean sweep as they beat the Redskins in the reserve contest, 25-14, 25-17.

Mallorie Stamper and Emily Truex each had three kills for the Redskins.
