City of Coshocton receives Scenic Ohio Award

| April 11, 2023

The City of Coshocton was selected for a 2023 Scenic Ohio Award by Scenic Ohio. These awards recognize the work of agencies, local government and non-profits who improve Ohio’s scenic resources. This is an incredible honor for our area and showcases to many in Ohio what we already know: Coshocton is a beautiful place to work, live and play.

When selecting Coshocton, the Scenic Ohio committee highlighted Coshocton’s “countryside views and hidden historical charm.” Coshocton is the perfect place to explore bits of history, see picturesque views and enjoy a moment away from larger cities like Columbus without needing to travel too far.

“This award once again gives us an opportunity to raise awareness about our city we know and love,” said Coshocton Mayor Mark Mills. “It’s clear people are now taking notice of the quality of life, recreational and scenic benefits Coshocton offers everyone who visits.”

“There are so many people who are working hard to ensure Coshocton is not forgotten and this award is a sign those efforts are working,” said Lanny Spaulding, executive director of Our Town Coshocton.

Coshocton will be honored along with fellow award recipients; Chagrin Falls, Lakeside Chautauqua, Millersburg and Yellow Springs.

Scenic Ohio is the only organization dedicated to the sustained beautification of Ohio. The non-profit organization works with local and state agencies, communities and individuals to achieve its goals to conserve and protect Ohio’s many scenic byways, its historic, prehistoric and ecological resources, and the appearance of its gateways.
