Claudia Jevene Darr, age 90, of Winchester, Tennessee departed this life on January 11, 2014.  She was born on October 21, 1923 in Fresno, Ohio to the late Harry and Mabel (Lyons) Lockard. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Jack Lockard, Lucille (Lockard) Coble and George Lockard.

Claudia was a 1941 graduate of Fresno High School and then attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio.  On September 24, 1945 she married Kermit Richard Darr and they were blessed with 67 years of marriage until Kermit’s passing this past July.  Kermit’s career with Rockwell took them from Ohio to Kentucky, Canada and Michigan, until their retirement in 1982 to Winchester, Tennessee.  In addition to being a devoted fulltime mother to their children, Claudia loved gardening, quilting, playing piano, cheering for the University of Tennessee ladies basketball team and listening to the Bill Gaither Trio.

Claudia Jevene will be fondly remembered and missed by her surviving family which includes four children, Carol Jo Clark of Kansas City, Missouri, Richard (Leeanne Hooper) Darr of Nashville, Tennessee, Timothy (Michelle) Darr of Hillsboro, Tennessee and Michael (Julie) Darr of Celebration, Florida; eight grandchildren, Christy (Chad) Pulley, Evan Darr, Richard (Jini) Darr, David (Angie) Darr, Andrew (Mary) Darr, Spencer Darr, Cameron Darr and Alexandria Jevene Darr; two step grandchildren, Patricia (Keith) Neal and David (Belinda) Grant; four great-grandchildren, Meryn Pulley, Chase Pulley, Issak Darr, Jack Darr; and five step great-grandchildren, Estella Thornton, Karly Neal, Kirsten Neal, Neyland Grant and Norah Grant; and her devoted nephew and niece, Dr. Robert Coble and his wife Debra Coble.

Claudia Jevene’s visitation will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Thursday, January 16th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 17th at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O.
