Club demonstrates during fall foliage tour
WEST LAFAYETTE – During the fall foliage tour lunch stop at the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette folks were able to view a display set up by the Cloud Climbers RC Flyers group and watch some of their planes take to the sky. One of the members who flew his air craft for a crowd of onlookers was William Phillabaum. He’s been with the group for seven years, but also was a junior member in the 1970s. “I love everything about this,” Phillabaum said. “It’s relaxing. I fly all year round as long as it’s not too windy or blistering cold.” Other stops on the tour were: Heritage Cooperative, Raven’s Glenn Winery and Restaurant, Darr Farms LLC, Yellow Butterfly Winery, and Rocky Point Farms LLC. The tour also took people past Hillview Farms Inc. where they could see cattle grazing on this reclaimed mining property. The 49th annual Fall Foliage and Farm Drive-It-Yourself Tour was held Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20 with maps being available both days at The Animal Boutique and Villas. The drive-it-yourself tour was free and open to the public. For more information, contact The Ohio State University Extension Office at 740-622-2265.
